Installing a Tanning Bed at Home

No matter what time of the year it is, a lot of people are going for the tanned look which is not necessarily the result of a tropical island vacation. Today, if you have a few minutes to spare, you can easily darken your skin to the shade that you want – whether it is a light, golden color or a deep, dark tan. This is all possible with the help of a tanning bed. If you have been going to the tanning salon on a regular basis, it is a more practical option to purchase you very own tanning bed that you can use at home.

Now, when buying a residential tanning bed, the first thing that you need to decide on is the type of tanning bed that you would like to purchase. If you have ample space in your house, you can purchase the horizontal tanning bed which is more of a clamshell type. If not, you can purchase the increasingly popular vertical or standup tanning bed. After deciding on the type, your next concern is the installation of the equipment in your home.

Basically, the only problem that you will have is if the tanning bed has a voltage requirement which does not match the one that you have at home. Tanning beds run at either 220V or 120V. If you have a 120V supply at home, you just need to plug the equipment in and enjoy home tanning to itself. If the voltage requirement of the tanning bed and your supply at home do not match, there should be some wiring done. The solution to the problem could be a buck booster – which does not come with the tanning equipment that you bought so you need to purchase this separately. Make sure to have the wiring done by a certified electrician to avoid permanent damage to the tanning bed.
